A Few Copier Questions for You

If you walked up to a copier and wanted to make a copy, would you lift the cover?

If you lifted the cover, would you put the paper in the dead center of the glass? Lower right corner?

If there was a large green button on the copier that says START on it, and you wanted the copier to START, would you push it?

Would you be surprised to discover that copies cost money?

Would you get angry about any of this?

Many of our patrons get angry when they put the original face up instead of face down. They receive a blank copy, but it never occurs to them to turn the original over.

There is also a big sign on our coin op which reads "copies 10 cents". People always ask if the machine takes quarters. Is there a coin op in existence that doesn't take quarters?

Many patrons have also apparently never in their lives purchased a newspaper or a coke, so they don't know that if they want their change back they can wait a few seconds or press on the change request plunger.

certainly, if i had never used a photocopier, then i'm likely to be embarrassed to admit it in public, and to instead get upset

Seriously, drootzler? Whenever you are embarrassed in public you lash out at people who are trying to help you? When I don't know what I'm doing, which happens all the damn time, I usually tell people that I'd like some help, and that I don't know what I'm doing. Even at the hardware store, where the help thrives on showing me how ignorant I am.
