The Chances

After unscientifically observing patron behavior for about six days, I have concluded that:

The chances of a patron saying “Book on Tape” and meaning “Book on CD”: 100% (5 out of 5)

I always take a request for a item "on tape" to mean "on CD" and "video" to mean "DVD" except for the elderly since they are often slow to upgrade, if at all.

What is interesting is how people sometimes get mad when I ask for clarification: "Of course I meant DVD! Why would you even ask such a ridiculous question?!"

Well, if I could read minds I certainly wouldn't be in this profession any longer.
